As someone who lives in Germany, this is the biggest vacation hit you can find! It is bachelor everywhere in towns and the popular christmas markets and this is exactly how to make it. Although, I wouldn't add the h2o, but instead substitute orange juice to give it more than of a zest. Beverage it while it's hot!
xi/01/2003
Outstanding!!! I made this recipe with two ane.five L bottles of Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon. I quadrupled the balance of the ingredients and subsituted orange juice for the h2o. After simmering the juice mixture I transfered it to the crock pot attack high and added the wine. After it was hot I kept it warm. It happened to exist Halloween and thirty degrees outside so I offered "to go" cups to the parents of the trick or treaters! They loved information technology! This is a fabulous recipe and ane that I will make throughout the holidays! Cheers for sharing!

This was my contribution to a business firm party I attended. I used Merlot that I bottle myself and substituted 1/2 the water with Tropicana orangish juice. I too removed the simmering oranges from the pot, removed the cloves, sliced the oranges into thick slivers and returned them to the pot. I then transferred everything to a crock pot to continue warm. It was a great hit with the guests and I will certainly make information technology again, and again. Many cheers for this keeper.

I normally am non a wine drinker, but I was having guests for Christmas, one of whom is of German beginnings (my brother-in-police), and I wanted to serve something a little differentand special. This was a big hit; even I loved it. The only thing I changed in the recipe was that I substituted orange juice for the water. My brother-in-constabulary commented that it tasted just like his late mother's recipe. Quite a compliment.
12/07/2003
Excellent. I made this using 2 tangerines, about 16 cloves, and half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. The citrus tends to become a bit of pulp into the wine, and then strain information technology earlier serving if you mind pulp. As well, if you're serving this to people who don't commonly drink wine, I recommend using a sweetness wine similar Shiraz -- I used a (dry out) burgundy and even with the sugar, the initial taste was quite tart when the vino was served hot. This keeps well refrigerated -- just warm in the microwave when y'all desire to serve information technology.
01/07/2003
WOWEE! This is good stuff! We had this on Christmas and on New year's day's Eve and it was a hit both times. We used merlot and it turned out nifty. The only thing is that I could never go it to the syrupy stage so we just added the wine after simmering awhile. You won't exist disappointed!
02/25/2010
Fantastic! I used orange juice in place of h2o and reduced the sugar to about a 1/2 cup. I used 4 cinnamon sticks and even added a few dashes of basis cinnamon toward the end. Often, I like to add a few splashes of brandy. It makes it a flake more than potent, which is peculiarly squeamish if your wine got a fiddling also warm and some alcohol evaporated. I've already made this then many times, I had to make certain I put my review in.
12/30/2011
Cheap wine is the best!!! Seriously! My husband and I fell in Dearest with this beverage while on vacation in Bavaria, Federal republic of germany. We made this drinkable with an expensive canteen of Merlot, and then did a 2nd batch with a cheaper brand (Barefoot Merlot...$5.99 a bottle). The cheaper make DEFINITELY had the RIGHT taste and odour! Reminded us of being at the Christmas Market at Marienplatz in Munich -subsequently the post-obit changes. The things I did different was scale back the sugar to one/2 cup and used orange juice instead of water (and still used the whole orange) per bottle. Done this way...it's like you're getting the drink directly from Germany!
01/22/2001
Made this recipe betwixt Christmas and New Year 2000 and it went down a care for. I'll definitely be making it again. Advice... drink information technology whilst it is nevertheless warm; when it cools it'southward but not the same.
12/15/2002
I'thou not a fan of cerise wine and so I used blush. I have too used white vino and it has come out great. I too add together one Tbls lemon juice, 2 sticks of cinnamon and no water. Very good!
11/21/2000
Thanks for this recipe. I was in Federal republic of germany 74-77 and accept been looking for this recipe. Once more Give thanks you. And Merry Christmas!
04/04/2003
I made this for New year's day's and fifty-fifty friends who don't like wine idea this was expert.
12/24/2002
I've been looking for a recipe for this since I left Austria! I went there in 1996 to visit my friends who live in Vienna, and I had this in Krungel (a town where Badmitterndorf ski schoolhouse is located) and it was great afterward skiing all day! Thanks and we enjoy it!
12/21/2002
Absolutely corking recipe for the traditional German Gluehwein! I served this merely yesterday (12/20/03) and everyone loved information technology. I did add only a fiddling orange juice, but because I used very strong homemade vino! Give thanks you for this recipe...will use it once again adjacent yr!
01/20/2003
Very tasty and the wine is quite a bit stronger than you lot might wait! My family loved it on a cold December nighttime!
01/01/2005
This is amazing! I made a triple recipie of this for a political party, using Tropicana orangish juice instead of the water, and I reduced the white sugar a bit and added just a little bit of brown carbohydrate. It did non become syrupy, but with that much orange juice I didn't expect information technology would. I tripled the cinnamon sticks, but still only used ten cloves, and simply one orange. For wine, I used 1 and 1/two bottles of Sawmill Creek shiraz. I added 2 bottles while it was on the stove, and and then kept it warm in the crock pot, adding another one/two bottle directly to the crock pot (the total 3 bottles wouldn't fit). The porportions worked out perfectly though. Very yummy, and very cozy drink.... will definitely brand again!
12/24/2002
I'grand not German, and take never heard of this drink before. But, just by looking at the ingredients I knew it would exist yummy. Sure, enough...I made it for all of my friends and now they're all asking me for the recipe! Thank you!!
01/05/2003
Yummy!!!
01/22/2001
Delicious, sweet and warm
06/30/2009
Well, if nosotros had followed the recipe exactly maybe it would have been amend. It was way too sweetness for our taste. We used orange juice instead of water, as suggested by many people. If you are a wine drinker, specially a dry red wine drinker, don't employ orange juice. It makes it too sweet! I will all the same exist looking for another adept mulled wine recipe. The search continues...
12/fourteen/2001
I've used this several times already and can't believe how good information technology is, thanks.
02/04/2002
This recipe is definately one to go on! We thoroughly enjoyed information technology after being out in the cold working all day! Cheers.
11/02/2005
I have made this several times. I have substituted orange juice for water, an orange juice/pineapple juice mixture & an apple juice/orange juice mixture for the water. On all I used 2 cinnamon sticks instead of 1. Fabulous! I also substituted some of the white sugar with brown sugar. As yummy. I also tried it the original fashion, just added an extra cinnamon stick. It is really skillful when yous go the mixture thick. I used local muscadine wine. No thing how it is stock-still, information technology is difficult to trounce! A real crowd pleaser.
01/02/2002
Great as a reception beverage to serve guests on a common cold day. This was different and tasty, great during the holidays.
12/11/2010
Yum! We alive in Kingdom of belgium and have been going to all the Christmas markets hither, Deutschland, and Kingdom of the netherlands. Our favorite function of the markets is drinking the different Gluehweins. I'm so happy you posted this recipe!! Used orange juice instead of the water and information technology was wonderful!! Will become a winter staple in our house now.
02/14/2011
Sooooo expert with a few changes. Instead of humid the water with sugar, I boiled shop bought orange juice. I did non button the cloves into an orange peel, I simply threw them in at the aforementioned time every bit the cinnamon stick. After thirty minutes I added the wine and then I added more sugar, orange juice and h2o to gustatory modality.
11/07/2009
I am an American living in Holland and I make this recipe every twelvemonth during the holidays. I too add together a splash of cherry liqueur (Kirsch) and place pitted cherries (Non maraschino) in the bottom of the mug before serving. Everyone loves information technology!
12/05/2005
Yummy... and the smell is wonderful. I always make this during the Holidays, and everybody loves it (even my husbands sister who thinks alcohol is yucky). This is a staple in our house during the winter months. I usually cut downward on the carbohydrate by 1/4 cup, and add and exra one/four loving cup of water. We ever purchase the cheap wine for this.
10/23/2009
I have been making the recipe since information technology first made it's appearance on this sight years ago. I make a double-batch, exactly as written, and it is e'er a hit. At that place is zippo similar the way it makes your house smell. I am hosting Thanksgiving at my house and my guests take already checked to brand sure we will have plenty of this effectually for those common cold Michigan nights.
12/07/2010
very practiced...can't expect for real cold weather condition and make this and drinkable it while walking down the streets with nicely lit christmas docoration...get a bit of European atmoshere if drinking in the freezing cold in a christmas atmosphere...
01/07/2012
Hi from Turkey. This recipe is the all-time I tried so far, all family loved it so much. I added 2 orange, 1 I squezed in 2nd I added in slices and instead of removing I left all ingrediants in it. Even six days subsequently the taste was astonishing. Have a great Gluehwein. Thank you for this great recipe.
11/03/2010
Yummmmmy!!! I added a little apple tree cider.....unbelievably delicious!
12/xvi/2009
I fifty-fifty impressed my German friends. I used OJ instead of water and used a ton of cloves. Considering of being crunched for fourth dimension I made the 'sauce' several days before my christmas party, leaving in the orange, cloves and cinnamon. Reheated, strained the debris and served ... AMAZING!!!
12/02/2006
I made this for friends who were on a float in our town's Christmas Parade. I used brown sugar instead of white, and poured it into several insulated mugs with lids. Everyone wanted the recipe, and information technology helped them warm upward after a night on a float. (I suspect it helped the states all *float* dwelling, too!) The only other change was that after the carbohydrate/h2o/orange pare mixture boiled, I turned the stove off and let information technology sit down while I did an errand. When I returned, the mixture had thickened. Since I used a small saucepan, I heated one-half of the wine in the microwave then added everything into a large thermos. My husband said he could smell it when the thermos was opened! Oh, since there was already orange juice in it, I also added about 1/2 cup of orange liquer for an extra shot of cheer. Volition definitely serve again! Thanks for the recipe.
x/29/2007
Orangish juice instead of water and this is PERFECT. I am told by every German I know that this is the original recipe. Oh then good!!! Also yummy if Cherry juice is substituted for the water.
11/fifteen/2008
WUNDERBAR! We loved this recipe. I did cut the sugar downwards to 1/ii cup, added an actress cinnamon stick, the juice of 1 lemon, and so strained the whole thing before serving. Made it with a simple Burgandy wine...I bet a Pinot Noir or Beaujolias would be practiced too. It was even better the second day after the flavors had blended more.
12/23/2004
I wanted this "crockpot" style to stay dainty and warm for the duration of the party. Well, just forget that! Information technology was gone inside 30 minutes, doubling the recipe simply wasn't enough (for 16 people). Everyone raved as they downed this rosy-warm aromatic drink. Have back-ups pre-fabricated. The trick I used with the crockpot was adding 2 inches of water, turning it on high with a lid while the oranges/cloves simmered in the oj mixture (non water) to get information technology squeamish & hot. So, instead of adding the wine to the stovetop pot, I dumped everything in the crockpot subsequently the oranges were finished simmering. This worked not bad merely I knew I was in trouble when it only filled it halfway. I used Yellowtail Shiraz/Cabernet every bit someone else suggested. As well expert! Volition make equally often as I tin can.
12/06/2009
Quite tasty. Try to pierce the orange with the cloves before you cut the orange. It is quite difficult to pierce the orangish skins after the orangish has been juiced. Do non worry if you lot are unable to pierce the orange skin with the cloves; simply place the cloves and the orange flesh/peel in the saccharide water. I strained the drink equally I poured it into the mugs.
12/23/2010
This was incredible! I left it on low heat for about an hr to proceed information technology warm and it reduced downward a bit to a sweet, spicy, rich nectar. So my fault made it fifty-fifty ameliorate! I'm making it again tonight.
12/fourteen/2008
I lived in Frg for several years and have missed gluehwein tremendously. I establish this recipe this year and tried information technology using the recommended orangish juice instead of h2o and a merlot for the wine. Astonishing! Just equally strong and fume-y as I remembered it (yous'll see)! :) I volition definitely be using this recipe again!
10/20/2011
I love this stuff!!! I've fabricated this exactly as written for years and wouldn't change a affair. This is the best time of twelvemonth to savor it!
01/31/2009
This is an amazing recipe. It tastes simply like what I drank while living in Deutschland. I fabricated information technology for a agglomeration of friends for Thanksgiving and everyone actually loved it. I kept getting compliments. That said, I used 2 bottles of cabernet sauvignon past Xanthous Tail. I then doubled everything else but may have added a bit more than carbohydrate since I didn't mensurate exactly. The only thing I changed was I used mulling spices that I picked up from the store. I just put those in a big tea brawl and allow them steep. I also combined all the ingredients at once because I wanted a good portion of the alcohol to burn down off. Everyone I know loves this and I give out the recipe pretty much every time I brand it.
09/x/2006
As expert every bit anybody says! I always strain this thoroughly earlier serving it. Conscientious...you could potable a lot of this!
01/07/2008
I had the pleasure of going to Frg several years ago, and this brought back some wonderful memories of that trip. This recipe is absolutely fantastic! My Husband is a diabetic, so I replaced the sugar with "Splenda Granular" and the recipe turned out slap-up! Cheers for sharing your recipe Else!
12/12/2008
Will be making this regularly during the holidays. Double this for certain - if you are having company. Boot it up with a shot of brandy when serving. Puts it over the tiptop! I used an inexpensive red wine (zin) and information technology was perfect.
11/25/2012
I really liked this spiced wine - I recollect next time I volition put a little less sugar in it (I recollect 1/2 cup would be fine). I'll definitely make it over again - my friends and I enjoyed it today after our wreath making session - it's very festive!
12/12/2007
This could be great. Unless you lot're a carbohydrate addict, I'd cut the sugar down to 1/2c. Following some suggestions I used low saccharide oj and still establish this also sweet. For this I used Barefoot Merlot for the wine. Peachy start though :)
12/27/2007
this is my new favorite christmas tradition! not a driblet survived!!!
12/18/2005
If I could give this recipe more stars, I would. Nosotros simmered the carbohydrate, water, OJ, cinnamon and cloves on the stove and so transferred to the crockpot when it was fourth dimension to add the vino. We started with 2 bottles of Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir, and information technology was gone inside about 15 minutes. We actually had to go to the grocer for iii more than bottles of Pinot Noir! It was amazing!
02/12/2012
This makes the best gluehwein! I've served it numerous times at present, and I think it does gustation better with the orangish juice instead of the water, and reducing the carbohydrate somewhat. I've also transferred it to my crockpot to keep warm, and used information technology while sitting around the firepit. Fabled! Cheers for sharing this recipe, Else!
12/x/2003
I was in Frankfurt, Frg concluding year for their Christmas Market. All yous can olfactory property is Gluehwein, in that location is a vendor every few feet. It was the best matter I had always tasted! This recipe is extactly like I remember information technology.
12/thirty/2005
I took other people's suggestions and used orange juice instead of water. I as well doubled the recipe and used one/ii loving cup of regular sugar and 1/two cup of brownish saccharide. It went fast! My guests were asking for more than. I will exist making this once more.
12/26/2010
As many others have previously said, I too have fond memories of drinking Glühwein at many a Christkindlesmarkt when I was stationed in Deutschland. I recall being so surprised that I liked it because I typically potable Spätlese and observe red wines such as Merlot also bitter. I fabricated this with Shiraz, every bit a few reviewers suggested, to go along things on the sweeter side. I too used orangish juice in place of water equally many reviewers suggested. I think using a cinnamon stick and whole cloves are genius as basis versions would overwhelm it. I have tried many other Glühwein recipes and been sorely disappointed, however, this tastes just like the Glühwein I call back. Thank yous, Else for sharing!
03/02/2013
A slap-up, tasty care for. Thanks!
12/06/2009
I used a big bottle of Cab/Merlot and used OJ instead of water like others suggested. I also cut dorsum on the carbohydrate. This was delicious and a big hitting at my party. Will definitely make again!
02/08/2008
Not bad old time German recipe. Try other juices also for a change. (O.J., red juice, etc.)
11/03/2010
No need to purchase mulling spices with this recipe (seriously, I picked upwards some mulling spices at the store and realized that the ingredients on the package were the same as the ingredients for this recipe). This was soooo good! The only affair I inverse was the amount of saccharide, I used 1/ii a cup instead of 3/4. I besides tried this with apple cider and it tastes corking.
02/21/2010
This was a big hit! Very tasty.
12/24/2010
This is actually skilful! I did cut back the water and sugar to 1/2 loving cup each. Everything else the same. Since I am the only one in my family that drinks wine I had to put nearly of this back in the bottle afterward it cooled. I thought information technology tasted better after it sat in the fridge for a couple of days. I like this hot or cold. Thanks for sharing!
12/12/2009
Delicious! The merely thing I would change adjacent fourth dimension is to cut the sugar down to half the corporeality. I used OJ as other reviewers suggested, for actress season. Looks pretty too in the Irish Coffee glasses.
10/twenty/2012
My hubby and father-in-police force are born and bred in Germany. They said information technology tasted merely similar Gluehwein should! Yummy and makes the house smell wonderful!
12/nineteen/2010
Absolutely delicious! I prefer white wines over reds simply decided to try this after tasting a "Christmas Wine" at a local winery. This tasted ameliorate than what they served! My hubby asked me to make sure that I double the recipe the side by side time and to please have some when his mom comes over for Christmas dinner! I'll exist serving plenty of this... It's gonna be a very Merry Christmas! :-)
12/05/2008
This is a bit sweetness for me, merely the spices are actually keen. I used a Zinfandel. Next time I may use something a piffling drier, only to outset the sweetness a bit.
12/09/2006
This is one of my favorite things to make for friends and family during the holidays! Information technology is sooo yummy and spicy and sweet, it warms you to the bone. I employ orange juice instead of water for added flavour. For parties, I become a inexpensive cask of crimson vino and quadruple the recipe. Information technology never lasts long!
12/30/2007
I take never heard of gluehwein but was looking for a festive spiced wine something for Christmas. My female parent-in-law loved it, sister-in-law hated it and I thought it was pretty adept though not what I was looking for. I followed the advice of others and used orange juice which made it too bitter for me - for me the h2o would accept been the better choice. I enjoyed the spicy taste and thought it was more similar a dessert wine.
xi/25/2011
Delicious! Like other reviewers I used orange juice instead of water. I put the cloves into a tea ball to steep instead of shoving them into the orange skin (it was too tough and I broke a few cloves trying).
11/21/2009
I honey Gluehwein my husband lived in frg for the last iii years and it is truly a favorite when you go to the christmas markets i'm pregnant this christmas so none for me till next yr. An information technology is a quick fashion to brand you lot warm happy apace.
12/19/2008
This wasn't as good every bit I was hoping. I didn't really taste any of the spices, and I added extra. Information technology was just warm wine for the almost part. Took information technology to a Christmas Eve party and not many people drank it.
12/18/2009
I fabricated this on a ski trip with friends. anybody loved it! Overnice warm pick me up subsequently a common cold day on the slopes. I may try it next time with a little less sugar, seemed a little to sweet to me.
10/18/2009
My husband made this exactly as stated. Nosotros used a cheap red tabular array wine. It was delicious & tasted like what nosotros've had in Europe.
12/31/2010
Nosotros love this! I am an Airforce married woman currently living in Germany. And permit me tell you, this is WAY better than the stuff they serve at the German Christmas markets. I made it for our Christmas political party, but I used orange juice instead of water every bit the other reviewers suggested. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make either. Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. This will be a tradition in our abode every winter...Thank You lot ELSE!
02/13/2006
We made this on a whim one night after a recent blizzard in the northeast. I was hesitant to dedicating a bottle of wine to the effort since the last spiced wine we tried was and then overspiced that it seemed similar coughing syrup. But this was a great residuum of sugariness and citrus and spicy, all without overpowering the vino. I didn't have an orangish on hand and so I used juice instead of the water and it came out great, I've already gotten requests to make it once again and can't await to endeavor adjusting levels of cinnamon, clove and sugar for mild variations on the theme. A definite winner!
01/01/2015
Turned out really good. Though after reading reviews, had done some modifications. Added less water, and replaced it with orange juice. As well, added little bit of nutmeg, star anise and ane/2 inch slice of ginger while humid the water (step ane). Thank you for sharing the reviews and this astonishing recipe!!
12/29/2010
This was a striking, although it was also sweet for me. But people came back for thirds! The smell was awesome too. I did Non practice the OJ, but rather followed the recipe and moved everything to a crock pot. If yous take a crowd, I recommend doubling this.
12/27/2004
The perfect end to a long cold winters walk.
09/01/2011
This a our new fall/winter staple!! I, too, used orangish juice in lieu of h2o, cut back the sugar a chip and used a Shiraz. My boyfriend doesn't like vino at all, but absolutely loved this. What a bully discover. Thanks for sharing
01/eleven/2004
This recipe was excellent. I used local plum wine for the red wine, which made the drink wonderfully sweet!
12/25/2007
I wanted something unlike this Christmas, so I gave this a endeavor. I really enjoyed it. I used orange juice as others suggested, and was worried about it being too sugariness, but it was lovely. I used an inexspensive French vino and sipped information technology while preparing Christmas dinner. Sehr gut! Danke, Else!
12/fifteen/2007
The only reason I rated this a v is that there was no higher rating. I made it using burgundy vino and followed the proposition of others and substituted the water with orange juice. Anybody loved information technology. I will definitely be making this often in the hereafter. Thanks, Else.
12/21/2008
Fabulous recipe! I idea doubling the recipe to use two bottles of vino would exist more than than enough for my pocket-sized Christmas party, but it went over so well I ended upwardly making another "double batch." Merlot worked well, and equally recommended, I kept it warm in the crock pot. I may try reducing the sugar adjacent fourth dimension equally it is definitely very sweet, only in no manner over the superlative.
01/07/2007
What a dainty blend of flavors! I ended up having to use ground cloves rather than whole ones and I felt that their season was far likewise strong...next fourth dimension I will exist sure to use whole cloves as the recipe calls for.
12/15/2008
This was bully for a holiday party that I went to. I used OJ instead of water, and information technology gave it more of a warm sangria gustation. Very good! I used merlot. This was like shooting fish in a barrel and fast. I will make it again!
12/20/2012
I make this every year. I lived for 2 years in Deutschland and loved the Kristkindlemarkt gluehwein. The smell filling the house is WONDERFUL, and brings dorsum memories of walking around the marketplace with the sounds of the traditional oom-pah-pah band in the background. Fantastic.
02/28/2015
Swell recipe on a prissy cold snowy winter dark!
12/20/2003
This is a wonderful drink by the fire when you have spent the solar day out in the cool, brisk air looking for that Christmas tree:~) It is one of my fondest memories of Germany....sipping on a warm cup, trekking through the Christkindle Markt taking in the sights and smells of Munchen! If you tin go the wine "Bulls Blood" in your expanse, (I believe it is a Hungarian blood-red wine) it absolutely will brand the all-time gluehwein! When I make my Gluehwein, I slice the orange and place the cloves inside the orange. Everyone has there own way of making it though, that is just my preference. Effort this, you will Beloved It!
12/ten/2011
Very tasty! A piffling sweetness for me the first time I tried it, so cutting the saccharide and water back to 1/two cup each, and it suited my gustation much more. Thanks to Else for sharing the recipe!!
12/27/2014
Excellent! Just made it for 2014 Christmas. I wanted to surprise my siblings who joined us at our house since we are of German language descent. Everyone loved information technology! since I make my own homemade wine, I accept tried it three different means. Simply my first batch so far was the best, using Cabernet & Agree with the original recipe. I am definitely starting a new family tradition. WEEZ
12/17/2007
My boyfriend is from a tiny village almost Wasserberg in Bavaria. He was missing Gluehwein and so I made this recipe for him and his boss, who is from Regensberg. They say that this recipe is really what they phone call "Punsch", and that Gluehwein is heated wine as well merely a chip dissimilar. I dunno, maybe this is known as Gluehwein in other regions of Deutschland. Nevertheless, we enjoyed this recipe very much!
eleven/25/2011
This recipe was good with the orange juice instead of water, however the orange flavor was a flake over powering I recommend making a residue between h2o and orange juice to accommodate your taste. Notwithstanding in general information technology was a not bad recipe, defiantly worth a endeavour.
12/19/2012
Wonderful spiced wine! Very simple not a lot of expensive ingredients. I followed the recipe until the end when I added 2 more cinnamon sticks while heating the vino. Prissy, spicy, and warming. I'yard thinking about adding some black peppercorn next time to run across if I can become a spiced wine with a kicking
12/06/2005
excellent recipe, very shut to the accurate flavor as said by a visiting german friend
12/10/2007
I'yard rating this from a POV of someone who hasn't had Gluehwein before but was looking for a good mulled vino for a holiday party. Overall it was adept only the full general concensus was that it was also sweet, so we added another one-half bottle of merlot. I would probably brand it again with the initial one and a one-half bottles of merlot.
12/19/2010
this is simple and makes brilliant Gluehwein
01/06/2008
I served this at a dinner party during the holidays and it was very well received. This is not a sophisticated potable - it's a skilful, flavorful somewhat sweet spiced wine that tin can be successfully fabricated with an cheap canteen of ruby vino. I cut down on the sugar and used orange juice in identify of the water. It was kind of like a winter-time Sangria. Yum.
01/26/2008
I lived in Germany for a long time and this recipe tastes perfectly accurate. Great for a cold wintertime night!
02/08/2011
Everyone loved this recipe at our Thanksgiving dinner. Succulent, thank you!
04/09/2006
Oh my give-and-take. Utterly fantastic. I fabricated this for my husband and he was just as impressed, the smell in our firm was great and the deep rich warming effect. Lovely!! Many thanks. :)
01/23/2015
I liked this recipe! I added a little less carbohydrate and I retrieve If I were to make information technology once again I would employ maybe half the sugar.
10/x/2009
This recipe is now a Christmas/whatsoever chilly twenty-four hour period favourite. Followed recipe equally is and information technology turns out perfect.
